Hello and welcome to our website, launched in February 2009 in support of the Home of Blessing Orphanage Building Project to benefit the children of Rajamundry, India.

The project:
Following the Tsunami disaster in 2004, we wanted to do something practical and far-reaching to help the victims of the devastation. So we partnered up with Pastor Raj in India, and began to discuss the best ways for us to be of assistance in his region. One exciting possibility that emerged from these discussions was the funding of an Orphanage Building Project that would result in 50 orphan children in Rajamundry being rehoused in a clean, safe new facility where they would be supported, comforted and very importantly - educated.

In August 2008, at a special themed dinner to mark the launch of the Orphanage Building Project, Craig Goodridge told us all a little about the children’s current way of life: each day the children roll up their little foam sleeping mats and pile them in a corner of the room - because the room they sleep in is the same room they will use for all their daily activities. Each child has one small box a little larger than a shoe box that holds all their personal possessions, including their clothes. There was one girls’ toilet but the boys did not have a toilet so were forced to go to the bushes up the road which caused many problems.

Since then the children have moved to a different building and we have built the boys a toilet of their own, but conditions are still bleak and inadequate and there is much more to be done for these children, who cannot reach their full potential without substantial help. Amongst other things, the Building Project will provide each child with a bunk bed and a good mattress to sleep on; and separate rooms for teaching and for meals.
